Current mod-support status
A dated Nexus Mods snapshot lists a ReStory game section and multiple downloadable community projects. That is sufficient to confirm that mods exist, while changing download and endorsement counts are deliberately omitted from this evergreen guide. Each project still needs its own version, dependency, author, and compatibility check before installation.
Existence does not mean official support. No reviewed Steam announcement, store feature, Mandragora page, or tinyBuild statement confirms a first-party mod API, Steam Workshop integration, or developer testing for community loaders. Until such a statement appears, compatibility and support should be attributed to each mod author rather than the game team.
The distinction matters when troubleshooting. A base-game bug can be reported through official channels after testing a clean installation, while a modified build may fail because a loader, framework, or plugin expects an older version. Removing third-party files for a clean comparison is therefore an evidence step, not a judgment about whether modding is worthwhile.
Loaders and framework dependencies
The collected listings mention BepInEx, MelonLoader, and a ReStory-specific BepInEx framework. Those names indicate how particular community packages say they are loaded, but they do not prove which engine built the game. A general-purpose loader can support several technical environments, so engine identification remains a separate unanswered question.
Read the requirements on the exact mod version before copying any files. A plugin that depends on a framework may not work when installed alone, and two packages that patch the same behavior may conflict even when each works independently. Do not assume that instructions for one translation, helper, or sandbox project apply to every other download in the ReStory section.
Installation locations and configuration keys can change between releases. This page does not publish a universal folder path because the approved source snapshot contains descriptions rather than one official installation standard. Follow the author's current readme, keep a record of files added, and avoid overwriting original files when the package offers a separate plugin location.
Quality-of-life and repair helpers
The research snapshot names RestoryQoL and several focused helper projects. ReStory-Tools describes batch screw operations, automatic component positioning, one-key assembly behavior, cleaning assistance, and shortcuts, while ReStory-AutoOrder describes detecting missing or damaged parts and preparing an order. ReStory-OrderProfit describes a visual profit calculation rather than a change to the underlying economy.
Other examples target narrower problems. Item Rescue says it moves pieces from tables to a single spot, and Sonic Bath Missing Parts Fix addresses a state where cleaner contents can be marked missing in the notebook. Firmware Fix describes easier interaction with named firmware tasks, but using it may change the intended challenge and should not be presented as an official repair solution.
These descriptions explain author intent, not a guarantee that every feature remains safe or functional. Check upload dates, supported game versions, dependencies, recent reports, and whether the base game has since fixed the same issue. A patch that solves a bug officially can make an older workaround unnecessary or harmful.
Sandbox, time, money, and achievement changes
The collected page includes TimeIsMoney, which advertises control over the clock and in-game money, and ReStory Infinite Sandbox, which advertises removing story lockouts and the ending for continued jobs. These projects make larger changes than a visual helper because they can alter progression, pacing, or the conditions around a save. Make a separate backup before testing them and avoid assuming the result represents an unmodified playthrough.
An Unlock All Steam Achievements project also appears in the snapshot. Triggering platform achievements through a mod can remove the normal record of completing their conditions and may be difficult to reverse on an account. This guide does not recommend using it and does not claim that Steam, Mandragora, or tinyBuild supports modified achievement state.
Money and time controls can also hide base-game balancing or bug behavior. If you later report a problem, reproduce it without the modifying plugin and disclose the version history that touched the save. That makes it easier to separate an official defect from data intentionally changed by a third-party tool.
Localization, radio, and cosmetic changes
The snapshot lists Indonesian, Ukrainian, and Thai community localization projects with different stated scopes and methods. One Ukrainian listing explicitly labels its translation as AI-generated, while Thai listings describe translated interface, email, marketplace, review, and story text. These are community claims and should not be confused with the languages officially checked on Steam.
Custom Radio says it can use local music files and internet radio streams in the in-game radio. Real Brands says it replaces fictional brand and device names, changing presentation rather than the official licensing status of the original game. Both types can introduce separate copyright, privacy, connectivity, or file-access considerations that the base game and this guide do not authorize.
Choose a localization only after reading whether it replaces fonts, injects text at runtime, or modifies packaged files. Keep the original language available for troubleshooting and remember that a game update can add or change strings that a community translation does not cover. The accuracy and completeness of any third-party translation are To be confirmed by its current maintainers.
Install mods with a reversible process
First update the base game and launch it once without mods. Back up the save location documented by the community or official support, then preserve a list of every loader, framework, plugin, and configuration file you add. Install one change at a time so a failure has a small set of possible causes.
After installation, test a noncritical save before opening the main campaign. Check the loader log for errors, confirm the mod's advertised interface appears, and verify that ordinary actions such as loading, saving, opening a device, and finishing an order still work. If a problem begins after an update, remove the newest plugin first and compare against a clean launch.
Never download a package solely because its name resembles one in this guide. Use the current project page, scan files with normal security tools, avoid executables that request unrelated privileges, and do not share account credentials. Third-party modding is optional, unaffiliated activity, so the player retains responsibility for files and save changes.
What remains unconfirmed
Official Workshop support, a documented mod API, developer-endorsed loaders, and a stable cross-version installation process are To be confirmed. The official Steam announcements currently focus on game releases, patches, community news, and content rather than a mod-support program. A later dated developer announcement should take priority over this status.
Individual mod download counts, endorsement totals, and exact file versions are also left out because they change quickly. The names above come from the collected August 2026 snapshot and demonstrate the range of community work, not today's popularity ranking. Visit the current project pages when deciding compatibility, but keep unofficial links and installers out of any claim presented as developer-approved.
For troubleshooting, always compare the modified game with Steam's verified base files. If the problem disappears clean, contact the relevant mod author with loader and version details; if it remains clean, use the official game support or discussion channel. That simple split protects both your save and the accuracy of any bug report.
